Organophosphorus compound (OPC) poisoning remains a significant public health concern, particularly in agricultural regions where these compounds are widely used as pesticides. The toxicological effects of OPCs are severe and often life-threatening, leading to considerable morbidity and mortality in patients who present to emergency departments. Despite advancements in supportive care and the availability of antidotes such as atropine and oximes, the clinical management of OPC poisoning continues to pose challenges.
